Location: The Health Centre is located in the Dorothy McDonald Centre.
Hours of Operation:
Monday to Thursday - 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
Friday - 8:30 am to 2:00 pm
The Fort McKay Health center provides services and resources to assist overall health and wellness for all residents of Fort McKay. Our Areas of focus include staff development, education, community health, awareness, prevention and wellness.

Health Centre Services
Dr. J. O’Connor will see patients through Telehealth every Monday and he will also be in Fort McKay at the Health Centre every six weeks for 3 days. Please call the health centre to confirm.
Registered Nurses: Theresa and Maureen are at the Health Centre Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 4:30pm, Friday 8:30am – 2:00pm
Mental Health Therapist, Edmund Ledi, will be at the health centre Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:30pm – 8:30pm. Call Bernice or Barb for appointments 780-828-4229.
Addictions counselling, services are available through the Health Centre. Flexible schedules are offered to accommodate clients that work during the day. Thursday trips into Fort McMurray for AA/ NA and ALANON are also offered. Call Jo-Anne to book a seat. A Local NA support group is beginning in September. Call Jo-Anne at 828-2450 for details. Anyone interested in taking part in the planning of aftercare/ sober community events please contact the health centre.
Social Assistance. Please make an appointment, as walk-ins will not be accepted. Due to Indian and Northern Affairs policies, documentation proof is required effective Sept. 1/08. Clients are required to bring bank acct. balance statements or cheque stubs for proof of income as well as any pension statements to their appointment because you may not qualify. Medical Transportation: Clients needing Medical Transportation MUST GIVE 24H NOTICE, otherwise will be refused transportation, unless it is an emergency. For Cancellation on medical trips, please call one hour before pickup. After hours please call Referral @ 1-800-514-7106.
