Trade Show Successfully Networking Entrepeneurs
Yet another successful Trade Show was organized this year by the Fort McKay Group of Companies on May 2nd 2007.  The Show demonstrated the achievement of each company owned and operated by Fort McKay First Nation.

All afternoon, the Dorothy McDonald Centre was filled with Industry partners and representatives, media groups, community members, and many others from all over; some even came as far as Saskatchewan to take part of this exciting show.  The Trade Show gave everyone the chance to meet with representatives of the Fort McKay Group of Companies, including many independent entrepreneurs from the region.

Booths were set up for each corporation allowing them to present services and projects offered within their companies.  The afternoon then was followed by a tasty lobster dinner to thank all of those who were involved in the making of the Trade Show.

It is incredible to see how Fort McKay Group of Companies has progressed over the years.  Established in 1986, the group started with only one single janitorial contract.  Now, Fort McKay Group of Companies has entered into many other long term contract services including transportation, heavy equipment  operations,  labour, fuel and lube delivery, mailroom and parcel delivery operations, and Environmental services.

FMGC serves a number of corporate clients in north-eastern Alberta; from the oil sands, pipelines, and forestry industries, to the public sector. The Group of Companies’ CEO; Jim Carbery, has been part of this growth for the past 11 years and has led the Group of Companies to become a financially stable, multi-million  dollar operation. The Group of Companies is operated by a team of experienced, skilled, and entrepreneurial managers, and is   expected to continue to grow in the future.

Businesses of the Group of Companies include Fort McKay Environment LP, Muskeg Distributors LP, Muskeg Mountain LP, Fort McKay Services LP, Fort McKay Properties LP, Fort McKay General Contracting LP, and Fort McKay Construction LP.  The Fort McKay Group of Companies has also formed a number of joint venture partnerships; North American Construction Group (NORAMAC), Terracon-McKay Ltd., Waiward Management (Caribou  Energy Park), Compass Group, First North Catering, Athabascan Resource Co, Birch Mountain Resources (Hammerstone Products Ltd.),  and Poplar Point Catering LP.
