FMFN Adds eleven parcels of land

Fort McKay First Nation is proud to announce the addition of eleven parcels of land to its reserve holdings following a multi-year process with the Federal Government. The parcels of land, totaling 114 acres, include land set aside for the Nation during the 2003 Treaty Land Entitlement process, as well as land located within the Fort McKay community. This addition of land allows Fort McKay First Nations more authority over its own territories and resources. Benita Koochicum and Carie Santo of Fort McKay’s Business Development unit spoke to the CBC Radio’s Rod Kurtz about this important advance.
