Important Issues Raised with Alberta Health Minister

Fort McKay First Nation Chief Raymond Powder joined fellow Treaty 8 Chiefs to meet with Alberta’s Minister of Health Adrianna LaGrange and Minister of Indigenous Relations Rick Wilson on Tuesday, August 15, 2023.

Topics discussed were related to important physical and mental wellness issues. An important issue for Fort McKay First Nation is the need to support our Elders as they age in place on our traditional land. Support for our Continuing Care Centre is our top priority.

Fort McKay First Nation also invited the Government of Alberta to support us as we build a Wellness Centre to help our community meet the challenges of maintaining mental and physical health in our northern Alberta community.
